I visited Sardinia last year with my girlfriend
and another couple. We rented a flat in Arbatax and were advised
the excursion on the trenino verde (which in Italian means green
train). We are all into trekking and were able to experience a
side of Sardinia that would have otherwise missed. The train was
like a time piece. We didn’t go the full length of the journey
that takes about 5 hours, but stopped at a station on the way
called Niala, where we took fantastic walks along the footpaths
and enjoyed a traditional Sardinian lunch in a local working farm,
which they call agriturismo. Fantastic variation to the seaside,
I highly recommend it.
