Arzachena, situated in the northeast of Sardinia south
of the island of La Maddalena, is a renowned holiday destination
in the heart of the Emerald Coast. Its territory comprises
80 kilometres of coastline, a mixture of sandy beaches and
jagged rocks with splendid deserted coves only accessible
by boat. The seaside is no doubt the main attraction in
this corner of paradise where the sea has clear waters and
the colours of the scenery are intense. The wonderful seabeds
and the endless supply of fish make it a hot spot for divers.
Arzachena offers a wide range of tourist facilities and
every comfort, luxury hotels, exclusive private villas,
residences and well equipped camping sites. Excursions by
boat and on horseback, all sorts of water sports including
sailing, windsurfing and diving. The territory of Arzachena
is scattered with ruins that testify the presence of mankind
since ancient times. Those who wish to take a break from
the strenuous beach going may like to visit the Giants Tombs
of Coddu Vecchju in the location of Capichera; not far from
the tombs there is the nuraghe of La Prisciona, a typical
Sardinian prehistoric construction with circular shape built
with dry stone walls. Other sites worth a visit are the
small temple of Malchittu, the funeral circles of Li Muri
and the Giants Tombs of Li Lolghi, set in commanding position
on top of a hill from where to enjoy spectacular views over
the Gallura region.
The nightlife in Arzachena and surrounding area is very
lively with a wide range of clubs, bars and restaurants
you’ll be spoilt for choice.
