The well established wine company of Sella&Mosca
has been going since the late 1800s’. The 500 hectares of
vines, set in the area of I Piani just outside the town of Alghero,
produce every year some of the finest Sardinian wines. The vineyards
are only open to visitors within the wine trade, but the establishment,
the cellar and the museum are open to the public. The museum exhibits
the company’s old photographs, showing the whole history
since 1899, and the artefacts from the necropolis of Anghelu Ruju
which was discovered in 1903 in Sella&Mosca’s territory.
Opening times in summer are between 17:30 and 18:30 Monday to
Saturday; in winter (October-May) visits are only on request.
It is always advised to book in advance for large groups, no more
than 50 people at the time.
To get there, from Alghero take the road to Porto Torres
(Strada dei due Mari), drive past the two exits to the Airport
and you’ll see the entrance to the vineyards on your right.
